Commercial

Maximising profit and minimising risk in every business sector

Commercial sits at the heart of every business sector. Operating face-to-face with customers, partners and suppliers, we’re responsible for maximising profit and minimising risk in all transactions throughout the contract lifecycle. Commercial’s activities are as dynamic as they are varied, and include drafting and negotiating contracts, developing bespoke business solutions and ensuring delivery of our expected returns.

What’s in it for you?

A Commercial role is both exciting and challenging, aimed at delivering business solutions that maximise Rolls-Royce’s returns. As a member of our team, you could work in any of Rolls-Royce’s business sectors, in over 30 locations around the world. Whichever sector you join though, you’ll develop commercial expertise through on-the-job learning, underpinned by formal training, and combined with senior support.

You’ll also enjoy multiple career options, with the opportunity to reach the very highest levels of Rolls-Royce. If you remain in Commercial, developing your expertise and experience, you could one day become an influential director or executive, working across a range of commercial disciplines. On the other hand, you might choose to use the skills and experience you’ve gained in Commercial in another area of the business. Either way, you will have gained experiences that have benefited so many of Rolls-Royce’s current leaders.

Kind of work

You’ll have the chance to work on the buy and sell side throughout the contract lifecycle, from inception, offer and negotiation, through to signature, ongoing contract management and contract closure. You’ll also be part of a formal or informal team that operates in conjunction with Sales, Purchasing, Legal and a host of other departments.

Training

The Commercial professional development framework was designed to maximise the potential of each individual on our team. Join us and you’ll enjoy multiple development opportunities, including internal and external training courses and on-the-job developmental activities.

Requirements

To join, you’ll need an aptitude for business and strong relationship skills, not to mention the drive, courage and integrity to deliver results. For Graduate entry on the Commercial Professional Excellence Programme, you should have a strong academic record pre-university and a good degree. For entry at other levels, you should have a strong record of achievement in a comparable role.
