Rolls-Royce in Singapore

Rolls-Royce has maintained an office in Singapore since the 1950s and its presence is expanding with the development of Singapore as an international business centre in the thriving Asia Pacific region.

Today, Singapore is a key business hub for Rolls-Royce, and all four major business sectors – Civil and Defence Aerospace, Marine and Energy – are strongly represented. Rolls-Royce plays a significant role in Singapore’s civil aerospace industry. At March 2013, the Group, along with its joint venture partners, employs more than 2,200 people in the city state and accounts for over 15 per cent of the country’s aerospace output.

In 2009, Rolls-Royce established a Regional Corporate Headquarters and relocated its Global Headquarters for the Merchant Marine business to Singapore, recognising the increasing importance of Asia Pacific markets where a significant proportion of global commercial shipping activity takes place. Located in the central business district, the Centennial Tower offices serve as the Group’s regional corporate hub, and encompass the Global Merchant Marine Headquarters, and features cutting-edge meeting and conference facilities and working space for 60.

In 2012, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong officially opened the largest Rolls-Royce facility in Asia, the Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus. Located on an area of 154,000 square metres at Seletar Aerospace Park in Singapore, the Campus doubles existing global capacity with advanced manufacturing, research, testing and training facilities. It is the Group's first facility outside the UK to assemble large Trent aero engines and manufacture hollow titanium Wide Chord Fan Blades.

The regional headquarters of the Rolls-Royce Energy business is also in Singapore, and covers all Asia Pacific countries, from India to China and Australia, offering services which include the sale of gas compression and power generation systems to the management of Long Term Service Agreements for the maintenance of rotating equipment.

In the Defence Aerospace sector Rolls-Royce is a key supplier to the Republic of Singapore Air Force.

Singapore is also the regional headquarters for several Group functions including Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, Corporate Communications, Training & Development, and Health Safety & the Environment.
